興達港開船

船長:229公尺 船寬:39公尺
船深:14公尺 吃水:9公尺
船藉:巴拿馬 船員:菲律賓
興達港開船要比靠船簡單一點,因為船卸載後變的比較輕,拖船比較容易拖拉和推頂,大船俥舵效果也會比較明顯。
這是從發電廠到碼頭的通路和輸送帶的長堤,大約有近一公里半長。(如果慢跑要八、九公鐘)
船艉拖船301. 3200匹馬力. 船艏401有4000匹馬力
這是船上纜繩繫泊的固定椿. (這是新式的快速脫鈎)
讀過莊子的人對於庖丁解牛的功力都印象深刻,他老兄把牛解了,牛還不知道,這可厲害了。其實天底下什麼事都是如此,熟能生巧,可是庖丁也不是一直都輕輕鬆鬆,他也說:「每見於族,吾見其難為,怵然為戒。」也就是說這麼神乎其技的人,在面臨糾纏一團亂的當前,也要心生警惕、小心謹慎。關於技巧,莊子在逹生篇中描述黏知了(蜩、蟬)的人,他的技巧全在乎「用志不紛,乃凝於神。」這句話不是說工作時如莊子說的鬥雞王「呆若木雞」,也就是說雖然全神貫注,但也是一派輕鬆,就像庖丁一樣游刃有餘,才是高手所為。
言歸正傳,興達港因為沒有防波堤的遮蔽,又有潮流影响,所以進出港一定要配合潮流和風力,運氣好可以借助風、潮,如果借不到東風,也要小心地破解它的影响力。
今天到船前,先觀察了流水,水流從船後來,風力不大,海面沒有湧浪(Swell長浪),所以主要影响是船後而來的水流。
解纜繩後,船因流水稍有往前移動,這時候PP(Pivot point)大約在船艏三分之一處,因此船艉力臂長,船艉拖船很輕就把船尾拉開了。
船成大角度後,這時候要能從駕駛台判斷船艏到碼頭的距離(上船前和一到駕駛台就要先大約估計出來),你先告訴船長大約的距離,船長才知道你有把握(他會要船頭人員估計、回報),就不會緊張。
開始打倒俥後退,讓PP移到大約船舯到駕駛台之間,船艏拖船做用點的力臂變大,就很容易拉開。
等拉開一定距離,第三拖302再從內檔推頂右船頭,這時候從後而來的水流也幫忙頂調頭,等於有四條拖船了。
如果流水從船頭方向來,那開船方法又不相同,總之萬般不離其要,運之妙存乎一心。
西南季風盛行時,水流仍是重點之一,但是風力影响變的重要,而且有時候西南方向來的長浪更使離泊變的困難,這時候更要「怵然為戒」。
船舶出不得意外,一出事,損失都是幾十萬到百萬美金起跳,千萬不可以暴虎憑河,吃了三把韭菜就要上西天做佛了,孰不知一昧的衝衝衝,出了事可對不起船長和船東了,船東有保險公司賠償,但是船長丟了工作和一輩子的不諒解,那可真是用對不起三個字不能解決的。
把船開走了或者靠泊好了,船長這才回神像看庖丁解牛一般地佩服、贊嘆,而不是一路上暗暗咬牙跺腳、壓根不能心服,這才是一流人幹的一流事。

所以說引水人這職位是需要具備非常專業的知識和經驗才能擔任的。
而您正是具有「庖丁解牛」功力的引水人。

蒙同學厚愛,到過高海大、基隆海大還有其他機關上個幾次課,賓主盡歡。但我上課不拘泥於時間,在上課範圍內天馬行空,可也不是好老師。

I realize that sailors use intersting terms, like speed is measured by the knots on a rope; so time may be expressed by rings of the bell. Please tell me how long it takes to ring the 公 bells 8 times? Who rings the bell, the pilot or the captain? [版主回覆05/18/2011 11:53:24]

That all old times terms.
Knots , becauses long time ago , sailor use a wooden plate tie with rope with knots, dropped to sea with releasing rope by current , by checking how many knots slacked away on a special duration, then can estimated the speed... this is esp. term we called patent log..only few people know it these day. And I am one of the few, old enough and learnt enough too....
Ring times are no longer exist on board ship. Before the walkie talkie age , sailors heaving up(took back) anchor , by ring the bell on the forecastle (ship's head), to let captain know how many anchor chain been hove back. Now all replaced by Radio communication.

Most of the Navigation information, such as: Warning, weather forcast, or other global concerning message still basis on GMT.
But the GMT expressed with z , i.e. 1200Z means 1200 GMT

Many years ago, the US battle ship New Jersey has come to Hongkong, because it was so huge it couldn't come into the harbour. A pilot took me [a little kid] to tour the ship with big guns which are extincted now. The pilot explained his job to me. More or lesse, he told me that he had the total of command of ship as you have always stated. He promised to take me along for his next assignment. A promise he never kept. I was told it is the way of a sailer, because they keep a girl in every port. Right? Anyway, I am fascinated by the marintime pilots all my life.

Defferent romance might occur for a cargo ship before, because stay long, 5 days or more, but not for ship nowadays, which stay only few hours or utmost one day or so.
To invite girls for a coffee or just a chatt in the park , spoke with Intalian, or Korean, or Malaysia, or by gesture language , were fabulaous experiences. And onec in a while, Invited local people come to ship to have Chinese food were also unforgettable memroies.
Aged man , or we say sailor, knows that, you never have a woman, they are much more beyond to be that, just a friend for a coffee, a chatt, or walk-with or a dinner if not so hurry.
Pilot gave you a promise, might just want to tease you ,made you happy. To take someone to a ship need chance and luck.
I can still recall that you said when you were in Korea, army sang A-Ri-Lang when you guys were marching, very impressed.

Thanks. Reminising the old days is the pastime for a old man like me. I didn't realize it until someone addressed me respectfully as "花甲老翁". I had been addressed as "公" by persons in Taiwan probably solely because of my past position, but this shocked me and have to accept it.
